monocabin XL5
Los Angeles, California, USA 2023
Monocabin XL5, currently under construction, marks an extraordinary breakthrough in the concept of living, standing out for its innovative design and excellence of construction.
Located in the fascinating Californian desert wilderness, this home is a true off-grid architectural gem.
This unit is equipped with advanced solar panels that harness the abundant solar energy of the desert to power the entire home, along with a septic tank for waste treatment and an underground cistern as a water reserve, making it 100% self-sufficient.
Its construction was realized through the ingenious modularity that characterizes the Monocabin project, allowing residences to be joined in different configurations. In this case, two L modules were combined with an M module, creating a spacious and versatile residence.
The compact and elongated design gives the Monocabin XL5 a unique and iconic style. Its generous size allowed for an expanded outdoor patio, transforming the external area into a natural and harmonious extension of the house.
The interiors distinguish themselves for their uncompromising functionality, offering two bedrooms, a spacious kitchen, a large living room, and two bathrooms. With this layout, the house comfortably accommodates 4 to 5 people, ensuring a superior living experience.
With its blend of elegance and sustainability, and its technological solutions, the Monocabin XL5 stands as an excellent example of an off-grid residence, not only providing luxurious living in the desert but also demonstrating how achieving energy and water self-sufficiency is possible through intelligent and sustainable use of available resources.
